WHEN ORDINARY ADHESIVES AREN’T ENOUGH
Some bonding jobs need more than cement, instant glue or ordinary construction adhesive.
They need a bond that can handle water, chemicals, repeated use, demanding environments and long-term service.
That’s where Beverly Hills Epoxy Adhesive comes in.
It is a two-component epoxy system consisting of resin and hardener. When mixed in the correct proportion, the two components chemically react to form a strong, durable adhesive bond.
Whether you’re bonding stone, ceramic, glass, metal-associated components or repairing household and industrial articles, BH Epoxy is designed for applications where bond reliability matters more than simply sticking two surfaces together.
Your existing literature specifically lists applications including glass, wood, ceramics, leather, marble, granite, asbestos and cement products.

HOW TO MIX SUPERB EPOXY
The Golden Rule: 1 : 1
Mix:
1 Part Resin + 1 Part Hardener
The ratio is by volume.
Step 1 — Prepare the Surfaces
The surfaces must be:
- Clean
- Dry
- Free from oil and grease
- Free from dust
- Free from loose particles
For difficult or very smooth surfaces, lightly roughening the bonding area can improve mechanical adhesion.
Step 2 — Measure
Take equal quantities of Resin and Hardener by volume.
Do not guess the ratio.
Step 3 — Mix
Mix the two components thoroughly until a uniform mixture is obtained.
Step 4 — Apply
Apply the mixed epoxy as an even layer to the prepared bonding surfaces.
Step 5 — Assemble
Bring the two surfaces together and hold/clamp them firmly in position.
Your existing instructions specifically recommend applying a thin layer to both surfaces and clamping for 10–24 hours depending on the application.
HOW MUCH DO I NEED?
Consumption: 2–4 kg/m² at 2–3 mm thickness.
1.8 kg Set
| Application Consumption | Approx. Area |
|---|---|
| 2 kg/m² | ~9.7 sq.ft. |
| 3 kg/m² | ~6.5 sq.ft. |
| 4 kg/m² | ~4.8 sq.ft. |
Approximate Material Cost — 1.8 kg Set
Using the current listed MRP of ₹1,699:
| Coverage | Approx. Material Cost |
|---|---|
| 9.7 sq.ft. | ~₹175/sq.ft. |
| 6.5 sq.ft. | ~₹262/sq.ft. |
| 4.8 sq.ft. | ~₹351/sq.ft. |
Important: This is a material-cost calculation only. Actual consumption depends heavily on joint geometry, surface roughness, gap filling and application thickness. Epoxy should not be unnecessarily applied as a thick layer merely to increase bonding strength; Araldite’s technical guidance similarly emphasizes controlled bond-line thickness and proper joint preparation.
WORKING TIME
Pot Life: Approximately 30 Minutes
Once Resin and Hardener are mixed, the chemical reaction begins.
Therefore: Mix only the quantity you can apply within the working time.
Do not prepare a large batch and leave it sitting in the container.
CURING & HANDLING
The existing Superb Epoxy literature specifies:
- Pot life: ~30 minutes
- Adjustability: ~30 minutes at 30°C
- Foot traffic: ~24 hours
Actual cure rate depends on temperature, joint thickness, substrate and quantity mixed.
IMPORTANT: SURFACE PREPARATION MATTERS
Even the strongest epoxy cannot compensate for a dirty or unstable substrate.
For the best bond:
Clean → Degrease → Dry → Roughen where appropriate → Apply → Assemble → Hold
Araldite’s technical guidance likewise stresses that proper surface treatment and joint design are critical to durable bonding.
CLEANING
Before the epoxy cures
Clean tools and accidental residue while the adhesive is still fresh.
Your product literature states that fresh residue can be cleaned using soap water and alcohol.
After curing
Cured epoxy becomes extremely difficult to remove and generally requires mechanical removal, which can damage the underlying surface.
Therefore: clean excess immediately.
WHAT NOT TO DO
❌ Do not change the 1:1 mixing ratio.
❌ Do not add water, cement or other materials.
❌ Do not apply over oily or dusty surfaces.
❌ Do not mix more material than you can use within its working time.
❌ Do not disturb the joint before adequate curing.
❌ Do not expose the unopened product to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
❌ Do not use it blindly on unknown plastics, coatings or chemically sensitive surfaces—perform a compatibility test first.
FAQs
1. Can I use Superb Epoxy to repair broken marble?
Yes. It is suitable for bonding and repairing marble and granite components after proper cleaning and surface preparation.
2. Can I bond glass with it?
Yes. Glass bonding and repair are specifically listed applications.
3. Can I repair a broken ceramic item?
Yes. Superb Epoxy can be used for ceramic bonding and repair where the surfaces are compatible and properly prepared.
4. What is the mixing ratio?
1:1 by volume — equal parts Resin and Hardener.
5. Can I use only the resin?
No. Resin and Hardener must be mixed together in the specified ratio for the epoxy to cure properly.
6. How long do I have to use the mixture?
Approximately 30 minutes under the stated test condition. Work within the available pot life.
7. Can I use it outdoors?
It can be used in suitable exterior applications, but the complete joint must be designed for the environmental exposure. Perform a site trial where exposure is severe.
8. Can it be used around water?
It is suitable for selected moisture-exposed applications, but continuous immersion, chemical exposure and water-retaining applications should be evaluated for the specific substrate and service condition rather than assuming every application is automatically suitable.
9. Can it be used for electrical applications?
Its electrical insulation property makes it suitable for selected electrical bonding/insulation applications. The electrical design itself must determine whether the product is appropriate.
10. Can I fill a large gap with epoxy?
It can accommodate certain gaps, but large unsupported gaps should not automatically be filled with adhesive. Proper joint design and, where required, mechanical support are important. Your existing literature also recommends secondary reinforcement/supports where appropriate.
