Mixing Instructions
- Add approximately 5.0–5.2 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag.
- Mix using a slow-speed mechanical mixer until smooth and lump-free.
- Allow the mixture to stand for 3–5 minutes, then remix briefly before use.
- Do not retemper the adhesive by adding water after it has begun to set.
Application Procedure
Step 1 – Surface Preparation
Ensure the substrate is structurally sound, clean, level, cured, and free from dust, oil, grease, paint, curing compounds, and loose particles.
Step 2 – Mixing
Mix the adhesive to a smooth, workable consistency using the recommended water ratio.
Step 3 – Adhesive Application
Spread the adhesive evenly with an appropriate notched trowel.
Back-buttering is strongly recommended for all large-format tiles to achieve near-full adhesive coverage.
Step 4 – Tile Installation
Position the tile carefully and press firmly using a sliding motion to eliminate voids. Use levelling clips and spacers for accurate alignment and lippage control.
Step 5 – Finishing
Allow adequate curing before grouting or subjecting the installation to service loads.
Best Practices
✓ Always use tile levelling systems for large-format tiles.
✓ Ensure at least 95% adhesive coverage behind every tile.
✓ Back-butter every large-format tile.
✓ Verify substrate flatness before installation.
✓ Plan movement joints in accordance with industry standards.
Avoid These Mistakes
✗ Installing large-format tiles without back-buttering.
✗ Fixing over uneven or weak substrates.
✗ Skipping movement joints on large floor areas.
✗ Exceeding the adhesive’s open time.
✗ Using this adhesive for extra-large porcelain slabs or submerged applications.
💡 Pro Tip
Large-format tiles demand nearly full adhesive coverage to prevent hollow spots, cracking, and edge failure. Use a notched trowel along with back-buttering, and install with a tile levelling system to achieve a strong, even, and professional finish.
